Founding of TCI

I founded TCI around February of 2025, near the end of my
Freshman year in high school. After the fall of the main
chess organization in our area, Chess4All, I decided to try
and take on the torch. From there, me, alongside my team,
built this organization from the ground up.

Our Mission

Our primary mission is to spread the love of chess around
our community. Growing up, I loved playing chess and
everything associated with it. I want my community to love
the game as much as I do. We attempt to achieve this
through frequent posts and in-person tournaments.

Personal Ventures

TCI has been a tremendous aid to my skill set. It has
inspired me to take on an active leadership role,
coordinating with other founders to accomplish our
mission. My technical skills in time management, graphic
design, and video editing have also been polished due,
to constant use and tinkering.

Impact

We have roughly
220k
Impressions
on Instagram, based on estimates
by adding up reel views, post views,
and collaborative post views.

We have hosted
3 events
many of which were tailored to
the local community to promote
the spread of chess.

Vertical
Graphics

Tournament Attendance Graphic

Guess why I picked this one?
That's right, it's the only vertical graphic here.
This was my first vertical experiment with grids. The
overlapping pictures and text is inspired by the concept
of controlled chaos. Pretty good graphic, does its job
by getting the message across and by
grounding this section.

Tournament Graphics

Thankgiving Graphic

This was one of my first graphics, one
made for the interscholastic tournament
held on Thanksgiving 2025. I typically
attribute this graphic as one of the catalysts
which influenced my design style.

January Tournament Graphic

This graphic was my first time using a column
grid. I started planning the concept behind
this project roughly a month or two before the
actual event, after creating a rough draft it
sat in my folders for a while until I received
notice about the tournament. Asymmetry works
well, but element weights feel a bit unbalanced.

Endgame Essentials

Opposition Graphic

This graphic was one of my more experimental
ones. Inspired by the style of swiss punk, I
integrated my own—more modernist and
geometric—style into it, creating a
unique blend of the two.Overall, it worked
out fine. The image's compositions
could have been a bit more grounded though.

Triangulation Graphic

One of my more recent graphics, this one
was inspired by the style of frasurbane.
The centerpiece of this graphic is one of my
favorites. However the weight of the image
seems to be a bit too skewed to the bottom,
perhaps that serves as a grounding element.
Still, the graphic has a lack of white space.
